Football

Football, commonly known as soccer in some countries, is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players each on a rectangular field with a goal at each end. The objective of the game is to score by getting the ball into the opposing team’s goal. Players primarily use their feet, but can also use other parts of the body except for their arms and hands, with the exception of the goalkeeper, who can use their hands within the penalty area.

The sport is governed by the Laws of the Game, which outline the rules and regulations. It is played in various formats including amateur and professional levels, and it encompasses many competitions and leagues globally, with the FIFA World Cup being the most prestigious tournament. Football promotes teamwork, strategy, and physical fitness and has a massive following worldwide, making it one of the most popular sports globally.
